This blog is an attempt to compile any interesting information that deals with glass. My hope is to create a site that helps educate and inform people about the use of glass and merge glass artist, educators, designers, sculptors, architects, and anyone interested in glass.

Glass Stairs

These glass stairs where featured in an article in the NY Times. It is amazing the strength and beauty of this material. This is just one of the millions of examples of using glass in architecture.

Jessica Jane Julius is a co-founder of The Burnt Asphalt Family, received her MFA in glass from Rochester Institute of Technology, and her BFA in glass from Tyler school of Art in Philadelphia. She is currently Adjunct Professor at Tyler School of Art, has taught as Interim Head of Glass at The University of the Arts, and assisted teaching at Penland School of Crafts, North Carolina, Corning, New York, The Glass Furnace in Turkey, and Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work deals with issues questioning our theories of moral, sexual, physiological, and morphological classification. Jessica’s work has shown in places including the DCCA, Rochester Contemporary Art Center, The Visual Studies Workshop in New York, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rutgers University, and Moore College of Art. She has been featured in the New Glass Review in 2001, 2008, and 2009 and received the Emerging Artist Award from the Glass Art Society in 2008.
